Fall

Tonight when I went to the shop the small winter area got to 74 degrees within six minutes. It isn't cold but it is chilly. I am confident it will warm quickly when it is truly cold. I will need to cover the concrete with something but that's easy to do. When I put down floor in my den in the basement I used 3/4" foam and subfloor under the oak flooring. It is warm and wasn't difficult to do. I'll need something solid so it doesn't eventually sag from the weight of motorcycles.

My first project for this year will be to change transmissions in my Moto Guzzi T3 and finish the cosmetics. I found a nice V-65 dash on ebay and I will use that rather than the square ugly dash that came with the police fork. The original T3 dash was ruined in the wreck. I haven't been able to find one that was affordable. The V-65 is similar and should be a fairly simple swap. Those things always end by taking more time than I anticipated but it will be well worth it to have a nice dash rather than the square gauge cluster.

Sitting in the shop tonight, looking at the Guzzi, I really like the lines of the T3. I work for another day and then have a couple days off. I will begin cleaning and get ready for the start of the T3 project. I might even have time to make a start on it. By the end of next week it will be running and again and should be ready for the paint. Color is undecided. I'm leaning toward black but I have looked at a lot of colors and like several. It will be hard to decide.
Those are the kinds of decisions I enjoy. There are no bad choices.

PS: As the election nears I have had more thoughts about the past years of the Bush disaster. We are far in debt, the economy is poor, the war continues and corporations are feeding on each other. My investment in motorcycles looks a lot better than most stock accounts. At least I have some control and can't be wiped out by some suit with no ethics.
